Didn’t work, poor quality
Plastic moulding is poor meaning pieces don’t fit together and one hole for a clip wasn’t a hole until cut open. Electric motor contacts are unreliable and so the motor mostly doesn’t work, making the kit useless.
Disappointing
Product is devastatingly let down by the electrical terminals for the motor and the metal clips you put on the motor housing. I attempted to improve contacts with solder but still ineffective. We will try making a permanent contact as the other reviewer mentioned to try to get it working. Otherwise we are unable to do anything with this apart from throw it in the bin. We suggest you product test these toys before selling them to avoid disappointing children at Christmas and reputational damage. Age suitability adult as opposed to 12+. The motor housing should be preassembled with the motor in it . As a secondary point, there should be an on/off switch.
Looks good
Since this item is for Christmas I can't comment on quality or anything else but it looks good from the outside and arrived very promptly.
Potentially brilliant. However,...
The idea behind the set: the experiments and construction tasks is brilliant. Unfortunately, there are simply too many loose connections. So much so, that I have soldered wires to the battery holder contacts, bought a new switch and given my son some terminal blocks, wire strippers and screwdriver. Thus actually makes the kit better. Now, he can build the devices and they will work.
